The cost to implement The Chem-Mod™ Solution at a coal-fired power plant is only a fraction of the cost of current mercury and sulfur emission reduction technologies.

In addition to the affordable cost of the equipment and sorbents required to implement Chem-Mod’s emissions reduction system, additional financial benefits for power plants include:

1) Reduced reliance on specialized personnel with technical expertise due to the non-hazardous nature of the materials used in Chem-Mod’s system; 

2) Increased furnace efficiency resulting from reduced boiler slagging, which allows coal-fired plants to burn less coal while producing the same amount of energy; and  

3) A new revenue stream through the sale of high-quality fly ash produced by The Chem-Mod™ Solution as a partial replacement to Portland cement in concrete production. The ash is able to replace 30-50% of Portland cement, and has proven to be 60% stronger than standard fly ash (Type C).
